At 11:03 Priyo Nugroho posted on HATHI Cab. Jawa Tengah Whatsapp Group that Pranoto was passing a way at 9:50. I knew that for about 3 months he had been ill and a month ago was confirmed he suffered of leukemia. In the recent days he was hospitalized in Kariadi Hospital Semarang.
Pranoto Samto Atmojo was a guy from Sukoharjo and since the year 1975 we shared to study at Institute of Technology, Bandung (ITB), Civil Engineering Department. He then became a lecturer in Diponegoro University, Civil Engineering Department till his retirement on the year 2019. During his service in Diponegoro University, he received a hydraulics course in Netherland. He also got his master degree in ITB and doctoral degree in Diponegoro University. Shortly after retirement he was appointed to be a deputy director at Public Works Polytechnics, Semarang.
I met many times because we worked in the same town, Semarang. After retiring I met him many more times. In the year 2015 I helped him to design Flood Control Structures of Glagah River in Brebes Regency. Our cooperation was continuing in the design of drainage structures for Balikpapan Samarinda Toll Road and Manado Bitung Toll Road in the years 2017 to 2020. After that we along with Zaenal Achmad and Hidayat Mulyono got together having coffee in cafes many times. I look him as a nice guy, patient, hard working, having commitment in frienship and solidarity. I felt sorry for not being with him in his last day.
In the evening Anjar and Rahutama brought Dhiratama to see a doctor. It was just a regular baby checking.
At about 20:00 I asked Anindya to pay our condolence to Pranoto's wife in the mourning house. At 23:20 Anindya reported the mission was done.
