Former Colleague

It was Tuesday. We had breakfast on the food lounge ground floor. The food was simple, less variety. At 08:00 we went to the airport. We fetched Gilang, the soil engineer. He just arrived at the airport from Jakarta at 08:00. Together we met Mr. Mangatur. He then accompanied us to meet the airport general manager, Mr. Eko Prihadi. He told many things about the airport development constraints. At 10:30 we left the airport administration building.

We went to the project implementation united located on the east of the runway. From Mr. Kodri and Mr. Nandar we had more information. They suggested us to ask escorts to accompany us working in the airport area.

After having lunch at a food stall in the airport area we dropped Gilang to the administration building again. He had a duty to see Mr. Mangatur. I and Mahardi came to the Air Navigation Authority (Lembaga Penyedia Pelayanan Navigasi Penerbangan Indonesia) to get some data. We failed to see the chief. Then, we went to the Climatology Station of Pangkal PInang to buy some data. An employee named Amat Bisri served us.

Leaving from the station we came to the Provincial Development Planning Authority. Mrs. Martini, Head of the Environment Subdivision welcomed us. We got data we needed. She suggested us to see Mrs. Tuti Andriani, Head of the Air Transportation of the Provincial Transportation Authority. We met her, she gave us the document of transportation strategic planning. She then suggested us to see her boss. Reluctantly, we came to him. Surprisingly, I knew him. He was Mr. Sardjulianto, my colleague when I served at the Directorate General of Human Settlements. So, we shared our experience since we separated. We left the office at 15:30.

We went to the Bangka Nesia Plantation in Perlang Area, Central Bangka Regency, to meet Suharsono Jayadi, Mahardi's colleague during his study in the Bogor Institute of Agriculture. The Bangka Nesia Plantation is a multiculture plantation that forest conservation is the main objective. To get to the location we trace a good pavement road to Perlang then come deep to the plantation on a non paved road. It took 3 hours to achieve the place. It was a place on the edge of forest. Suharsono Jayadi welcomed us. He served dinner with grilled fish. We has no much time, at 18:30 we asked dor leaving. He in his car escorted us to exit the format. At about 22:00 we arrived at the hotel.
