Going to Pagarruyung

It was Thursday. It was the first day of our tour. Our destination was Pagaruyung Palace (istano basa). We had a good breakfast in the hotel but then at 09:00 we got a second breakfast in the residence of the West Sumatera Governor. The governor, Mr. Irwan Prayitno welcomed us. The dishes were good. Anto, Hedi, Taufik and Muji shared the table with him. At the end we made pictures in front of the residence.

Our trip was to Pagaruyung, Batusangkar. We stopped by Mak Syukur Sate Resto to have lunch. The resto served meat sate of Padangpanjang styled gravy.

In the afternoon we arrived there. The palace area were about 500m by 500m. The palace itself was about 20m by 100m positioned higher than the access. We used the time to made pictures with the palace was the background. We weared Minangkabau costumes. Of we rent the costume, Rp35.000 per unit. The picture of 15cm by 20cm costed Rp20.000 each.

In the evening the Government of Tanahdatar Regency welcomed us to a banquet session named makan bajamba, a dinner participated by many people. The dishes were 4 kinds (vegetable, fried fish, rendang meat and dendeng meat) served on a 50cm diameter plate. The were covered by an ornamented fabric along waiting. I only consumed the fish. It was tasty when being eaten with vegetable and chilli pepper (sambal).

After the dinner, a traditional drama telling Cindomato was performed. It seemed good to but the local language buffering us. The session was over at 24:00.

We arrived at Nuansa Naninjau Hotel at Matur at 01:30. After having showering I slept.
