It was Thursday. It was the first day of Ramadan 1436H. At 02:30 we got up to have our early breakfast. My menu was a banana, a salak, an egg, and steamed broccoli. It was my first mandatory fasting after 2 years.
At 07:30 I, Nuri, and Asri went to Surakarta. The traffic was flowing so at 10:00 we arrived at the destination, BTC (Beteng Trade Center) where batik and fabric were sold. Rahutama then was joining us. He came there from Jogja by Prameks Coaches. He dropped off at the Purwosari station and continued to go to BTC by bus. I just sat at a place close to the entrance waiting for them shopping. At 14:00 we left the place.
We then visited 2 places, Mesran Store on Kalilarangan Alley and Sri Semar in Singapuran Kartasura. We bought several snacks in the first place and dishes named garangasem in the second one. Garangasem is a kind of steamed dish made from chicken or its organ, wrapped by banana leaf. Shallots, garlic, chilly peppers, etc is added into.
At 17:00 we arrived at the Kampung Kopi Banaran where we broke our fasting. Maghrib time was 17:36. At about 19:00 we arrived at home.
