The Last Day of Ramadhan

The Moonsighting Council (Dewan Itsbat) meeting decided that the last day of Ramahan would be August the 30 so the first day of Shawaal 1342H would be the day after, Wednesday August the 31. However, I followed the Muhammadiyah scholars that chose August the 30 as the first day of Shawaal 1432H. They said that the new month had come after the conjunction of moon and sun just before sunset. Because of that this day was my last day of the Fasting Festival.

It was usual morning. I hoped my breakfast was my last early one of this fasting festival. The menu was dry food: kering kacang and potato, rawon and fried wrapped egg. The time after I was still at home. The day was hot and dry. We broke our fasting at 17.42. As usual Nuri served tea and cocktail. However Nuri also served me banana and palm sweet (kolak). For the dinner she served soup, fried tofu and tempe. In the evening I, Nuri Mas Andi went to ACE Hardware. Nuri signed up herself as a member. We ordered shelves. As a member she paid Rp699.000 each compare to Rp899.000 each for non member. It costed Rp100.000 to be a member.
