Sight Seeing

It is Tuesday. Black Tuesday (Selasa Wage). It was the day 2 of the reunion. After having breakfast in the hotel we walked along Jalan Malioboro to the bus parking space in front of Bank Indonesia office on Jalan Panembahan Senapati. This day was Selasa Wage a car free day for Jalan Malioboro. Beside us there were many people walking or cycling along the street. We found many spots for selfie so we made pictures there. We also entered Vredeburg Fort Museum. Many items about people movements before the independence day were displayed there. At 11:00 we arrived at the parking space. We then went to Warung Pohon to have lunch.

Warung Pohon was a resto located at Glondong Panggungharjo Sewon, Regency of Bantul. The team provide me with rice and chicken ingkung dish. Chicken Ingkung is chicken deeply boiled with special Javanese spices. It resembles curry dish but the gravy is separated. It is originally used as a part of a libation. In additon to ingkung dish the team catered us with vegetables named trancam. After having lunch we went back to the hotel.

At 16:30 we went to Prambanan to see Ramayana sendratari performance on an open space theater. Sendratari, was a blended of seni drama (drama) and tari (ballet dance). The theater was located in the Prambanan Temple Area. A musala was available in the area so we could paid our prayer there. The team provide a dinner box that we consumed after praying. At about 19:30 we entered the theater at 2A seats. About 50 people of the group joined here, such as Abdul Hadi, Adri Supardi, Asiwardi Gandhi & spouse, Bambang Purwanto, Budi Prabowo, Christina Sutrisni, Dwi Kartika Rinie, Dwi Sulistyanto, Eddi Poernomo, Edi Sempron, Gatot Supriyadi & spouse, Hadiwibowo & spouse, Harijati, Hariyoto, Kusumastuti, Meiyanti, Moch Slamet, Moch Susatyo & spouse, Nurul Safariah, Oscar Harimawan, Rahardjo, Reno Handajani, Savitri Fadjarwati, Sonep, Sri Rumini, Suharyanto, Suroso, Sutono, Triana & spouse, Umi Ismartini, Widarto, Widati, Widayanto, Widiyanti, Wijaya Seta, Wijayanto, Winardi, and Yodati.

At 20:00 the performance began. It was telling the story of Ramayana from Rama winning the archer contest to he rescuing Sita. The performance was good involving about 60 dancers. The sound and lighting systems were also so supporting. In addition, Prambanan temple as the background made the performance was awesome. At about 21:30 it finished. We went back to the hotel.

At about 11:00 I, Adri, and Widarto were in Malioboro enjoying the atmosphere of Malioboro. We enjoyed a sweet drink named ronde. Ronde was sweet warm water with ginger flavored and enriched with baked peanut and sweet sticky rice balls.
