Going to Banyuwangi

It is Tuesday. In the morning Nuri bought rice for our breakfast. At about 09:30 I and Rahutama went to the place where hiker started to hike to the Ijen Crater. I believed that the crater can be reached from both Bondowoso and Banyuwangi.

We traced the track from the house. We headed our car to Situbondo through the provincial road. At Tapen, we turn right and followed the kabupaten road. The road was good although it was narrow. Some villages were passed in the Kecamatan Sukosari and Kecamatan Sempol Bondowoso. We found forest when we were passing the highland. Then, after passing the peak we found the plantations. There were posts for passing the border of plantation. We arrived Paltuding at about afternoon. It was the border of Kabupaten Bondowoso and Kabupaten Banyuwangi. From this points tourist hike for about 2 km to get the crater of Ijen. The crater of Ijen is well known as the blue crater since in the night it looks blue.

We went through the villages of Banyuwangi. We passed Ragajampi to head our car to Jember. About maghrib time we would just arrive at Jember. At Jember we bought pieces of Pizza Hut. We were in line for about 30 minutes. At about 19:30 we arrived at the house in Bondowoso
