It was a tradition that we celebrated somebody's retirement by having lunch together in a restaurant. This afternoon we came to Panda Restaurant Purworejo to have lunch together. We celebrating the retirement of Maimin and Suwardi. Maimin had retired since the month of December 2009 while Suwardi would retire on January 2010. There were about 40 people joined in this celebration. They were Ktut, Sukadi, Haryono, Tyas, Hartono, Yulianti, Djumadi, Tumiran, Wiwik, Retno, Tasinah, Ary, etc. The food was tasty but I had to control my diet.
This morning I woke up almost late. After doing prayer I went out to do morning walking. On the way back I bought nasi uduk (coconut milked rice) for my breakfast. In the office I joined the rollcall. I also collected the officials to have my briefing. I checked Rahutama for his coming to Salaman. He left Semarang at 14.00 by Sumber Alam Bus. At about 16.30 he arrived at Salaman. In the evening I had dinner alone in Lezat Restaurant. I had rice and a mix of tofu, caisim and chicken stirred fry. It costed at Rp13.000.

Gus Dur Passaway
This afternoon at 18.30 Gus Dur, a nickname of the fourth Indonesian President Mr Abdurrahman Wahid, was passaway. That was breaking news aired by Metrotv. Gus Dur had been sick for several weeks. He had been suffered from kidney malfunction for years. His life ended in Tjipto Mangunkusumo Hospital.
I woke up on time and then I did my prayer. My breakfast was rice and vegetable dishes made by Ms Ndun Kuswari. At 10.00 I, accompanied by Acep, did banking in BCA Sudirman and Mandiri Pandanaran.
At 11.00 I and Acep left Semarang for Kutoarjo. We stopped by SPBU Gajahmungkur for fueling, Sebantengan Canteen for having lunch and Purworejo market for having durian. Meeting in Semarang
This meeting was organized in Dinas office 13.30 to 15.30. The chief was in. All third echelon officials joined in this meeting which discussing a new way on conducting the work. The secretary told that in the coming fiscal year all activities would be controlled the division managers so the area managers would roll as assistant of the division managers.
I woke up on time and then I did my prayer. I did morning walking under cloudy sky. It rained when I was at about the market. I got into a becak for home. I gave the operator Rp10.000. Meeting in Jogja
This was a coordination meeting between Provincial Water Resources Authority (Dinas PSDA Jawa Tengah) and national water resources authorities work in Jawa Tengah. It was organised by Serayu Opak Water Resources Authority (BBWS Serayu Opak) in Parangkusumo Room Sahid Hotel. I came to the place at 09.20 and the meeting started at 10.10. This meeting was participated by Chief of Dinas PSDA Jawa Tengah, Chief of BBWS Serayu Opak, Pemali Juana, Citanduy and Bengawan Solo. Some of their first level subordinates also joined in the meeting. Dinas PSDA Jawa Tengah also presented their full team. They were Secretary, all of the division heads (kepala bidang) and all of the area managers (kepala balai). The meeting concluded at 13.00.

Anindya Leaving for Jakarta
This was last day she was in Semarang. She planned to came a week again during the new year vacation. At 10.15 Bagus came home to pick her up to the hospital for visiting Mbak Yet. They would then go to the station. We in three (I, Nuri and Anindya) made pictures of us. After visiting Mbak Yet Anindya dropped by home. She left some stuff behind. We made pictures again which Rahutama also joined.
I woke up on time and then I did my prayer. My breakfast was ketupat mangut (ketupat= rice in coconut leaf; mangut= smoked fish in coconut milk gravy). Rahutama went out to joined a birthday party. Gama Seafood Restaurant
Anindya wanted us (I, Nuri and Rahutama) to have a dinner in this restaurant. She wanted to celebrate her first salary from Bank BNI by dinner together. At 20.00 we came there. Anindya and Bagus had been there. We chose fish soup, crab in hot sweet souce, fried ring O calamary, fried silk shrimp, water spinach stirred fry and sprout dried fish stirred fry. All of the dishes were delicious.
Gama Resto located in Jalan Haryono MT to the south of Saint Josef Elementary School. It had a capacity of about 200 people. They served varieties of seafood dishes. Their service was quick enough as they did not want the customers in long waiting. The parking area was not spacious enough so we had to put our car in front of the school.
This morning I woke up on time to do prayer. My early breakfast was rotiboy bun with a cup of coffee. About 10.00 I did the second breakfast with rice and yesterday vegetable dishes. Being at Home
I was at home all day long. Previously we planned to go somewhere outskirts of Semarang but it was postponed because every single member has his/her own ajusted plan. Nuri went to the hospital to look after Mbak Yet. Anindya went out to spend her christmas holiday with Bagus. Rahutama and I were still at home.

Anindya Being Home
I woke up at 03.45 to prepare going to the Tawang station. This morning Anindya was scheduled to come home. I and Rahutama arrived at the station at 04.00 but the train had not come yet. I did prayer in the station mosque. At 05.30 the Anggrek Coachs arrived. It was 2 hour late. Anindya then showed up from the crowd.
In the late morning Anindya and Nuri was out. Anindya was in the hospital to be with Mbak Yet. Nuri joined a alumni spouse social gathering in Mrs Sudiyanto's house. I and Rahutama was at home for getting rest.

Back to Semarang
On Ktut's free ride I went back to Semarang. We left Kutoarjo at 14.00 and I arrived at home at 18.00. Ktut drove his car calmly. Since his accident several months ago Ktut has no dare to drive quickly. The traffic was flowing but entering Banyumanik it was congested.
This morning I woke up late so I missed my prayer. I joined the rollcall in the office. Sukadi was not in but he then came to the office late. I had my breakfast in Bina Marga canteen. At 10.00 I chaired a meeting on Professor Djoko Legono's presentation on Monitoring and Evaluation of Dulang Water Resources Conservation.

Back to Semarang
I woke up late so I missed my prayer. I slept wakeless. After bathing we went out to seek breakfast. We found a canteen around Pogung Kidul facing Saluran Mataram where we got our breakfast. I chose nasi rawon (rice and black meat soup). At 08.30 we checked out. Mr Suryono went to Magelang accompanied by Haryono and Acep. I and Mr Guntoro went to University Club to join a talkshow named Challenging for A Drop of Water (Perjuangan Untuk Setetes Air). In this talkshow I met Budi Antoro and Hardjono Sudjanadi.
As finishing to join the talkshow I went back to Semarang. I stopped by Tape Ketan Muntilan to have snacks, a canteen in Pabelan to have lunch and Condongraos canteen parking yard to sleep briefly. Overnight in Jogja
This afternoon I came to Jogja. I commited to gather with Mr Suryono, Mr Guntoro, Haryono in UGM Guest House Sekip. Until mid night we made correction to our book draft. It was comfortable because the house was big.
It was an old house consisted of 4 big bedrooms. It was built in the year 1959 when the Gadjahmada University was established originally was for lecturers' accomodation. As told by Tugiyo, the caretaker, the last resident was Professor Soenarjo Keman. Now, the house is marketed by the University management as a homestay. It costs Rp600.000 per night.
This morning I woke up on time to pray. Nuri prepared fried rice for my breakfast. At 10.00 Nuri went to Brumbungan to visit Mbak Yet. At 12.30 she was home. She told me that Mbak Yet was ok. At 13.00 I left Semarang for Jogja. I stopped by Banaran Café for lunch. At 16.30 I arrived at the guest house, Jalan Kayu Putih Sekip Jogjakarta. The other people came at 17.00 or later. Being at Home
I woke up on time for dawn praying. I then slept again. Nuri provided nasi pecel (rice served with peanut souced vegetable) for my breakfast. She also asked Ms Ndun Kuswari to make balado terong (eggplant in chilly pepper souce). I had it for my lunch and dinner.
Before zuhr I went to a car washing station. It was long line. I then when to Mandiri Bank to continue my yesterday halted banking. On the way home I stopped by Puri Kencana Station, Jalan Pamularsih, to wash the car. The cost was Rp30.000. The rest of the day I was still at home. Rahutama went out to join his colleagues. Islamic New Year
This day was the first day of the year 1431 Hijriah. It was a public holiday in Indonesia. There was no special event since this new year was respected as a religion related day. People usually treat the day same as usual holidays. Some are still at home and the others come to public places.
I woke up at the time. After praying I slept again. Nuri provided nasi pecel for our breakfast. A serviceman came home to fixed our refrigerator. It was then fixed. It costed Rp290.000. Nuri filled her morning with washing cloths. I went to At Taqwa mosque for friday worshipping.
In the afternoon I and Nuri went to DP Mall for having lunch and shopping. We stopped by Mandiri and BCA Banks Pemuda for banking. This was my continuing banking because the yesterday banking was not over yet. We also stopped by Danti bakery for getting snacks.

Islamic New Year Eve
This day was the last day of the Hijri Year 1430. So tomorrow would be Muharam 1, 1431 Hijriah. It is a Javanese tradition to welcome the day by being together till mid night. This night I and Nuri joined the neighbourhood gathering managed in front of Mr Jarwo's house. The committee served the audience with meals and snack. Nuri was there till 23.30 but I was still there till 01.00 after midnigth.
I woke up in the time for dawn prayer. I did morning walking after that. This was the third time I did morning walking this week. I believed the dosage had been accomplished. My breakfast was oatmeal porridge.
We organised a ceremony this day. This was 17th of December 2009 so the day for ceremony. We also managed a gathering in the operation room. I was so relaxed steering the event because works had been done. We were served with rice and vegetable with peanut or coconut dressing for our lunch. Tyas prepared all of that.
At 15.30 I left Kutoarjo for Semarang. I stopped by BCA Bank Kutoarjo for banking but it had closed. I stopped by Lik Santo's house to take sticks. Being in the Office
It was not busy anymore so I was little bit relaxed. After joining the daily rollcall I was still in the office. Sukadi was in Jogja to settle the office business. Haryono was in the office till mid day. He was home to be a welcoming person in a reception. Ktut was fully in. I was in the office till 16.00.
In the morning I woke up in the time for prayer. Then I did my morning walking. It was cloudy but it did not become rainfall. I had my breakfast in Bina Marga canteen after the rollcall. Going to Salaman
At 16.00 I went Salaman to visit Lik Santo and Adi. I wanted to talk about our plan to gather in Bandung during the new year. I arrived at Salaman house at 17.00. Lik Santo was in the house. Adi then joined after Lik Santo called him. It was decided that the group members from Salaman would be Lik Santo, Adi and Nimas.
After maghrib time I and Lik Santo went to Magelang to have dinner. We had tahu kupat in Slamet stand because Tahu Pojok, the canteen close to, closed. We then went to Giant Supermarket, I bought dried fish and Lik Santo bought fruit. I dropped Lik Santo at the house and I went home. At 21.00 I arrived at home.
This morning I woke up on time to pray. Then I did morning walking. On the way I met Maimin was walking, too. I bought 2 papayas in the market. In the office I joined the rollcall. The echelon IV officials were in. I had my breakfast in Mbok Pawiro canteen. During mid day Sukadi gave me 2 durians. They just dropped from their tree this morning so they are sweet, sticky and delicious. They did not make us feeling drunk. Lanjutannya...

Going to Kutoarjo
I woke up late as I planed to do at 03.00. After preparing everything I left home to Kutoarjo. It was 04.20 and I had done my prayer. The road was acquired by few cars so I could run quickly. I arrived in Magelang at 06.00 and the traffic was going crowded. At 07.10 I arrived at home.
I joined the rollcall. All echelon IV officials were in. I then had breakfast in Bina Marga canteen. I was so relaxed because almost all of the works were done. At 10.15 I, Tyas, Tasinah and Wiwik and also Acep went to Kebumen to join a wedding party. Djoko Wasono managed this party to celebrate his daughter's wedding. The other management and employees also join the party. At 12.30 we arrived at the office again.

Thanksgiving
It was managed this evening in the monthly social gathering. The gathering collected men (husbands), women (wifes) and their children. It was special gathering because it usually separated men from wife. The thanksgiving was managed to express our gratitude for the success of Anindya completing her bachelor degree in accountancy in the Diponegoro University and the beginning of her career in the BNI Bank. We served them with meatball soup, chicken rice and young coconut cocktail.

Pandanaran Food Fair
In the evening I went out to see Pandanaran Food Fair. A newspaper told that the fair would be opened this morning acquired a segment of Jalan Pandanaran. It was true, a segment from Tugu Muda to Kyai Saleh was closed. It was crowded so my appetite was also gone. I postponed my desire to see.
In the morning I was still at home. I did my prayer. Nuri provide oseng oncom for my breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mid day Nuri went to DP Mall for buying orange juice. In evening after postponing to see a fair, I went to Gramedia and Merbabu Bookstores, Pandanaran to buy a diary and a 3.5' CD-RW. I also went to BCA Pemuda ATM to draw money.

Shopping in Java Mall
At about 14.00 I accompanied Nuri went to Java Mall. She wanted to buy a pantsuit for Rahutama. It was just right, I wanted to see a computer exibition. The exibition was planned to manage from Desember, 11 to 16. The first thing we did there were having lunch. Nuri did not provide lunch at home. I had garangasem ayam (chicken in banana leaf wrap).
In the morning I woke up almost late to pray. Nuri prepared nasi pecel for our breakfast. Rahutama came from he worked last night at about 10.00 when Nuri was in the hospital to check Mbak Yet out. Being at Home
It was my duty trip status so I was still at home. In addition, I waited for Hartono at home to sign payment applications. This day was the last day to submit the documents to Dinas office. Hartono, Hendri and Akhmad Muryadi came about mid day. He said they got trouble with the car in Ambarawa so they spent more time to come. After finishing on signing the documents they proceeded their way to Dinas office.
This day I was at home all day long. I woke up almost the time the sun rised. Nuri prepared rice and fried tempe for my breakfast. She also bought tempe stir fry for my lunch. Nuri was so busy on looking after Mbak Yet. She underwent a chemotherapy session today. This was the sixth and the last one.
This evening I planned to a salon to cut my hair but it postponed because Nuri was with Mbak Yet till isha time. On her home she asked me to phone Anindya. Anindya was at home yet. Wiwin Kwintadi
He was my schoolmate in Magelang State High. He was also my course mate in ITB Civil Engineering Class 1975. His complete name is Wiwin Kwintadi Soeprapto. He put his father's name as the third name. He has been working for PT Pelindo III since 1983. This evening he invited me, Pranoto Samto Atmodjo and our family members to join a dinner in Pesta Kebun Restaurant. I was alone but Pranoto with his wife and his son, Aga. I enjoyed the dinner and also the chatting we did. At 21.30 the gathering dismissed. Pranoto and the family was home. I dropped Wiwin in Metro Hotel.

Half Officing
After about 2 weeks I did not do morning walking, this morning I did it. I woke up almost late to do prayer. I walked on the usual track. I bought 2 papayas, Rp4.500. At home I made rice for my breakfast. I joined the rollcall although my status was on duty trip.

Meeting in Semarang
This was a routine, monthly meeting to evaluate our activities during the elapsed month. This day in Wadaslintang Room I and other officials joined a meeting to evaluate our November activities. It started at 09.20 and concluded at 13.10. The chief and almost all of the third echelon officials joined this event. The Secretary, Mr Triwidodo, was absent. I, Mr Guntoro and the chief continued the meeting in chief's room. I discussed our projects, writing a book and building a microhydro electric plant. I then joined a meeting again organised in Mr Agus Purwadi's room. It was attended by Mr Agus Purwadi, Mr Prasetyo, Mr Purwadi, Mr Djumono and Mr Novianto.
This morning I woke up on time to do prayer. Nuri provide rice and fried tempe for my breakfast. At 08.50 Rahutama dropped me in the Dinas office. After everything finished Acep then picked me home at 14.00. Nuri was in the Karyadi Hospital to look after Mbah Yet. Rahutama was just home from his campus.

Five Hours in Kutoarjo
At 06.05 I and Rahutama went to Kutoarjo. There many documents were waiting for may signature so I thought I had to go there. We stopped by Gudeng Rukun Counter, Magelang, for breakfast. I spent Rp18.000 for 2 us. Actually we planned to have breakfast in Bu Atmo Canteen but it was not on service. We arrived in the office Kutoarjo at about 09.30. I finished documents on my table. Djumadi, Marsiman and Bambang Hernawan and Tasinah were in. After mid day Haryono was then in, too. At 15.15 I and Rahutama left Kutoarjo.
This morning I lost my prayer again. I and Rahutama prepared ourselves for Kutoarjo. We needed almost 3.5 hours to get Kutoarjo. After being in Kutoarjo we were back home. Attending a Wedding Party
The party belonged to Mudzakir family. This day they celebrated their daughter's wedding, Lina Yuliasari. She was married to Laksono Adi Nugroho. The event was in Gedung Diklat Provinsi (Provincial Training Centre Building), Srondol. I and Nuri came at 11.30 and left at 12.30. We met Mrs Sumaryati, Mr Nidhom Azhari, Mr Supardjo, Mr Satriyohadi, Amat Yatin, Roosmany, Yiyi Rizal, Budianto, Surjadi, Rudjianto, Watoyo, Anwar Arizona, etc. I saw also Mr Teguh Djoko Suprapto attending the party.

Joining a Meeting
This day I had a meeting in Balai Besar Wilayah Sungai Pemali Juana (Pemali Juana River Basins Management Office) concerning practice in using prefabricated concrete for channel. It was scheduled starting at 08.30 but I came to the place at 07.40. It was too early. The meeting discussing the Office's experience in rehabilitating their irrigation channels. They underwent many problems concerning to the procurement and installation. In the procurement they had lot of varieties on the price. They also experienced varieties on product quality. In the installation they found social and technical problems. In the meeting I meet Mr Hartanto, Mr Widiarto, Mr Suhartono, Mr Ktut Arsa Indrawatara, Agus Surawan, etc. The meeting concluded at 11.15. I went home in a hurry.

Public Works Service Day
This day was the Public Works Service Day. I joined a ceremony celebrating the day in the front yard of Dinas Cipta Karya dan Tata Ruang (Provincial Authority for Human Settlement and Spatial Planning). Other management members and employees participated in the event. We had a cordial breakfast afterwards.
I woke up early enough to do prayer. Nuri provided oatmeal porridge for my breakfast. In the Cipta Karya Tata Ruang I had the second breakfast. It was laksa, a kind of chicken soup with coconut milk. At home I had mutton curry for my lunch.
In the morning I did 2 activities. They were banking at BCA Sudirman and giving documents to Prima Lestari to bundle.
In the evening I and Nuri went to DP Mall to shop. We had dinner in Istana Mie at the foodcourt. I chose rice and seafood tomyang. Nuri had noodle. Nuri bought some food in Carrefour. Lanjutannya...

Back to Semarang
This morning I woke up at 05.30 so the sun had rised. I lost my prayer, of course. I came to the office late. It was not necessary as I was in travel duty. I gave briefing to the subordinates concerning the time that was going to run out. At 08.30 I left the office for Semarang.
As usual Acep accompanied me. We stopped by BCA Kutoarjo to pay Indonet invoice. I paid Rp46.000 for October and November 2009. Again, we stopped by Bu Atmo Canteen Magelang for having breakfast and SPBU Secang for fueling and toiletting. At 13.00 we arrived home. It was locked. The keys was with Nuri and Rahutama.
We went to Bambang workshop to take the key from Rahutama. He was there to fix the Toyota Starlet. After getting the key I and Acep came to Istana Wedang to have something for drinking. We were so thirsty. For a glass of cold lemon drink and a bowl of green bean drink I paid Rp14.300, tax included. When we were home Nuri was being in. Acep then went back to Kutoarjo. The key was with him.
In the evening I joined a flashback event commemorizing 7 public works heros died in Bandung on defending Gedung Sate. The event was managed in former Public Works office in Jalan Boediono. Dinner in a Seafood Stand
It is Tuesday. The Yellow-7 Tuesday-3 (Selasa Pon 10). After maghrib time I, Hartono and Haryono had dinner in a seafood stand named Lamongan Seafood. It was a temporary stand and on service only in the evening. I chose fish in red souce (kakap asam manis). It was good enough.
This morning I woke up on time so I had my prayer. I warmed the black soup for my breakfast. I used warm water for bathing. My cough was still persistent. Mr Hidayat stopped by on his way to Pejengkolan Weir. He would join the event attended by Governor. There were also 2 people of Subdivision of Irrigation and Raw Water in the office to supervise the filling of irrigation performance data sheet.
