Wearing Traditional Costumes

It is Friday. It is the day 2 we are in Lombok. After dawn praying and showering I and Nuri went to the meeting room to dress up. Dressing experts put Sasak Traditional Costumes on us. The costumes was similar to those of Bali. Two pieces of fabrics on the bottom and closed with suit jacket on the top. A hat then put on the head.

At about 09:00 after having breakfast the group went to the Mayura Garden in 3 buses. The garden is still beautiful was built by the Karangasem Kingdom in the 19th century. A dance named Tari Gendang Belek welcomed us. After having photographing session on the gazebo on the center of the pond we went to a hall to continue watching the dance. The organizer also provided 2 more dances named Tari Perisaian and Tari. I like the 3 dances, they are awesome. I am so grateful.

In dhuhur time we joined the Friday prayer in a masjid close to Narmada Garden. The masjid was nice and clean. The session started at 12:15 local time. After praying we gathered in the Narmada Garden. We had sate bulayak for our lunch. Satay bulayak consists of chicken or beef satay and bulayak. Bulayak is a kind of rice, cooked in the coconut leaf. The organizer was also served us with mangosteen, zalacca, and durian. At the end we were served with young coconut tree.

In the afternoon we gathered on the beach to joined games named Olimpik Gems. It was just kid games for ice breaking and fun. We were separated into 4 groups: red, yellow, blue, and green groups. I and Nuri were in the green group.

In the evening we gathered in the ballroom to have dinner. The organizer provided good dishes made us satisfied. A band was also involved to entertain us. We participated in singing and dancing that made us happy. Before dismissing we played an Indonesia styled domino named gaple. Eight pairs joined the play. The pairing of Wiwin and Dony was the winner. They beat the pairing of me and Bambang.
